Tis the season to VAMP IT UP!
The fall (on purpose) brings the best lighting and background for a dark lip. With the gloom and the fall leaves, mother earth is practically dying for you to wear a dark lip number. But let's not get too carried away. Please note, when creating the vamp look keep the eyes and cheeks neutral. Less is more ladies!
For the face:
Mascara, eye liner, soft/warm eye shadow and a soft cheek will do the trick to pull the whole look together.
Tips for applying a dark lip:
1. Apply your lipstick with a lip brush: Swipe it on from the outer corner of the mouth to center on both the upper and lower lips, then fill in the rest of the pout.
2. Apply liner later: Once you've applied your lipstick with a lip brush, run your liner in a matching shade along the perimeter of your lips to give them a borderline.
3. Skip the glossy finish: There's nothing wrong with adding lip gloss over your usual lip color to make it standout more, but these dark shades don't need any help in the attention-getting department.
4. Last but not least, wear it with confidence!
Matte formulas give you a longer wear time and if you really want to set your lips, you can blot some translucent powder on a puff over the lips.
We are currently in LOVE with the Limecrime Velvetine colors, especially the most recent trio the "Clueless Witch Lime Crime Velvetines" (the name alone won us over):
